Nozzle has published a full dataset on what several vendors now report: Google answering suspected bots with a complete, normal-looking page whose results are wrong. Google has not confirmed it, and for one weekend the fallback, Search Console, ran more than 64 hours late.
Since May, Google Analytics sorts visits from ChatGPT, Gemini, and other assistants into a default channel of their own. Clicks from AI Overviews and AI Mode are filed under Organic Search by definition, and the tracking parameter that seemed to change that last week came from a browser extension.
